Are You Mobile Ready?

by User Not Found | May 14, 2012
In about four weeks, a group of us will gather in Atlanta to review the "state of mobile" in healthcare and discuss how hospitals and healthcare are, or should be, preparing for and using mobile. It seems certain that a mobile revolution is coming. There are nearly 6b mobile devices worldwide and recently Morgan Stanley estimated that mobile Web access will surpass desktop Web access before the end of 2014. I've recently started asking clients when I see them, "How much of your traffic comes via a mobile browser?" It's not unusual to hear an answer of 30-40% these days. A year ago, the typical answer was 5-6%. So is your hospital or healthcare organization mobile ready? That's a big question with tons of subtext:
  • Does my site work well in a mobile environment?
  • Do I need to develop a site that is specifically for a Smartphone? Another one for a tablet?
  • Are native apps better?
  • What are the mobile needs of all my varied audiences:  consumers, patients, physicians, employees?
  • Do I have a plan to build mobile use and access across the various stages of the patient experience (access, diagnosis, pre-admission, treatment, monitoring, post-discharge, etc.)?
  • How do I balance all these needs with our other desktop applications, the intranet and our portals?
  • How do I make my executive team understand that the mobile train is fast approaching, and about to run us over?
If you are struggling with these kinds of questions and don't have all the answers figured out yet, you should join us in Atlanta, June 11-12th for Mobile Bootcamp. You’ll leave the Bootcamp “ready” to develop and execute a strategy that prepares your organization for the coming mobile revolution.
